Glasgow Commonwealth Games
Commonwealth Games
My prior knowledge of the Commonwealth Games
I know that at the Commonwealth Games there are different kinds of sports and also different kinds of teams that represent their countries. There is always a ceremony to start the Commonwealth Games. There are athletes that represent their country in sports. They win medals which are gold, silver and bronze.
My New Knowledge of the Commonwealth Games
The Commonwealth Games is the third biggest multi playing sport. The Commonwealth Games began in 1930. The opening ceremony takes place at Celtic Park, Glasgow on the 24 of July NZ time. In England time it will be on the 23rd of July. August the 4 will be the closing ceremony at Hampden Park. 17 different sports will take part with 261 events in total. New Zealand’s medals have mostly come from athletes with a total of 565. Only six teams have attended at the Commonwealth Games, Australia, Canada, England, Scotland, New Zealand and Wales.
Evaluation
I think that I did okay in my work because I didn't know much about the Commonwealth Games but I learnt a lot from my new knowledge that I found out on different kinds of websites.

Hangarau ~ Technology
When I go to Tamaki College, I learn in Digital Technologies. The Maori word for technology is Hangarau. I have to use the Kiore and the Papa Patuhi to log into the Rorohiko. At school i use a Rorohiko Ponaho. We use Ipurangi to log into the Pae Tukutuku for Digital Technologies. We have to check the Maramataka to see what our tasks are for the day. Sometimes our teacher sends us messages on the Imera. Sometimes our teacher uses her Waea Pukoro to give us dojo points or to take photos of us working.

I have learnt the following words in Maori:
Rorohiko- computer
Rorhiko Ponaho- Laptop/Net book
Kiore- Mouse
Waea Pukoro- Cell phone
Ipurangi- Internet
Imera- Email
Maramataka- Calendar
Papa Patuhi- Keyboard
Pae Tukutuku- Website

How I got around in the holidays?
What goes beep beep and drives on wheels which has four or two doors? CARS.
There are many ways to transport but the only one that I like to transport in is the car because it gets around faster and quicker even though it pollutes the air it is still much better. The safest way to transport is the truck, car or bus. The unsafe way to transport yourself is rollerblades or bikes because when you fall off you can graze yourself and hurt yourself badly.
The colour of my mum’s cars is purplish and blue. It is called a Legnam and it feels nice and comfortable when you sit inside. My cousins and I walked everywhere else like the shop and to other family’s houses. I biked to the shop to get some stuff. I went with my mum and brother also my uncle and traveled safely in the car.
It was great to see the family and this was made possible because of transport like cars.
